Flexen was designated for assignment (DFA) by the Seattle Mariners on March 28.
After losing his starting job, Flexen was acquired by the Mets via trade on April 4, but the Mets immediately placed him on waivers.
MLBTradeRumors.com, which covers major league transactions, reported on July 7 that Flexen had been released by the Mets. His release was finalized that day, making him eligible for free agency. He is free to negotiate with other clubs.안전놀이터
Flexen made his big league debut in a Mets uniform in 2017 and played through 2019.
Flexen is also a familiar face to Korean fans. He joined the KBO in 2020 and was a dominant ace for the Doosan Bears. His regular season record was 8-4 with a 3.01 ERA in 21 games.
In the postseason, Flexen pitched five games, going 2-1 with a 1.91 ERA and one save to lead Doosan to the Korean Series.
The following year, Flexen returned to the major leagues and spent two seasons in Seattle, going 22-15 with a 3.66 ERA in 64 games (53 starts).
This year, however, Flexen went 17-4 with a 7.17 ERA and was released.
Hope remains. Teams with thin pitching depth could try to acquire Flexen on the cheap.
According to MLBTrader.com, “Teams are dealing with injuries to their pitching staffs. It wouldn’t be surprising to see some teams give Flexen a chance to regain his form,” said MLBTraders.com, raising the possibility of a return to the big leagues.
