Gangneung City Hall’s curling club ‘Team Kim’, the flagship team of Korean curling, recently left for Canada and is concentrating on training by participating in several international competitions to gain practical experience.

According to the city on the 18th, Team Kim left for training in Canada on the 5th, and will participate in a total of 7 international competitions over an 8-week schedule. Coach Peter Gallant, who was with the team at the PyeongChang Winter Olympics and World Curling Championships, will also join this training and improve their skills through team tactical training.

In addition, the goal is to improve performance and regain confidence through actual games against world-ranked teams in various ice environments, re-enter the top 10 in the world rankings in the 2023-2024 season, and reclaim the national team in the 2024-2025 season. We are determined to secure tickets to the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan, Italy.바카라

After Team Kim completes overseas training, they will resume the psychological skills training newly introduced this year. The psychological skills training introduced last March began at the recommendation of sports psychology expert Professor Cheon Seong-min (Catholic Kwandong University Sports Guidance Department), and is a combination of team training and individual counseling.

Through this, we plan to improve the players’ performance by developing their mental ability to overcome the various pressures they experience during the game and maintain their best condition.

A city official said, “Team Kim has been making history by proving its skills, and is a team with endless growth potential in the future,” and added, “We will actively support our curling team to constantly move toward bigger goals.”
