K League 2 side Gimcheon Sangmu have appointed Jung Jung-yong, who led them to a runner-up finish at the 2019 Under-20 World Cup, as their new head coach.

With the achievement marking South Korean football’s first ever runner-up finish at a FIFA-organised tournament, Chung went on to manage Seoul Eland for three seasons, but failed to secure promotion and was not re-signed.

Gimcheon Sangmu hired Chung to revitalise the team’s recent slump in the race for the top spot and win the title and promotion, and acting head coach Sung Hansu, who led the team for the first half of the season, will return as head coach and work with 토토사이트Chung alongside other coaches to guide the players.

Chung will be with the team from the first of next month and will make his debut against Jeonnam on 4 June.

Having taken charge of the team in the middle of the season, Jung expressed that he feels a sense of responsibility and is determined to do his best to help the team achieve victory and promotion.
