Hwang Seon-woo (Gangwon-do Office), the signboard of Korean swimming, took first place in the men’s 200m freestyle at the national team selection event, cruising toward winning a medal for the second consecutive time at the World Championships.

Hwang Seon-woo climbed to first place with a record of 1:45:36 in the men’s 200m freestyle final at the KB Financial Korea Swimming Championship (토토사이트2023 National Business Team Selection Competition) held at the Gimcheon Indoor Swimming Pool in Gyeongbuk on the 29th.

When he won the silver medal at the 2022 World Aquatics Championships held in Budapest, Hungary in June last year, he fell short of the Korean record (1:44:47), but was the first to take a touchpad.

Although it is still in the early stages of the season, it surpassed the record (1:46:07) set by Tom Dean (Great Britain), gold medalist at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, and ranked first in the 200m world ranking this season.

Along with Hwang Seon-woo, Lee Ho-jun (Daegu City Hall), a member of the men’s team relay 800m relay, took second place with a time of 1:45:70. Kim Woo-min (Gangwon Provincial Office) placed third with a time of 1:46:10.

Hwang Seon-woo and Lee Ho-jun, who passed the International Swimming Federation A record (1:47:06), won the right to participate in the World Championships to be held in Fukuoka, Japan in July. Kim Woo-min also broke the International Federation A record, but a maximum of two players per event can participate in one country.

In the preliminaries held on the 28th, Hwang Seon-woo easily reached the final with an overall first place (1:46:45), and did not miss the lead on this day in good condition.

Hwang Seon-woo is set to compete in his third world championship this year.

At the 2019 Gwangju Games, he only competed in the 800m relay, a team event, and won a silver medal in the 200m freestyle at the 2022 Budapest Games.
