The dream match of ‘Korean Zombie’ Jeong Chan-seong (36, Korean Zombie MMA) has become a reality.

Jeong Chan-sung will finally face former champion Max Holloway (31, USA).

UFC representative Dana White officially announced on the 16th (Korean time) that the matchup between the two featherweight rankers was confirmed through a video on the UFC’s official YouTube channel.

The match will be held on Saturday, August 26, at Singapore Indoor Stadium. The main event of UFC Fight Night is a five-minute, five-round fight.

Chansung Jung has been dreaming of a match against Holloway for several years. He would name Holloway as the opponent he wanted to play against.

After defeating Dan Ige in June 2021, he made a provocative remark that “Halloway has no punching power.”

Even in the UFC Korea tournament in February this year, where participation was canceled due to a shoulder injury, it is known that he originally requested a matchup with Holloway from the UFC side.

When Holloway was scheduled to fight Arnold Allen in April, it seemed that the confrontation with Jung Chan-sung was virtually difficult.

Jeong Chan-sung was completely defeated by champion Alexander Volkanovski in April of last year, and there was not enough reason to demand a match with a higher ranker.

A great reversal occurred here. Right after Holloway defeated Allen, he demanded a confrontation with Chansung Jung at a press conference.

Holloway said, “Chansung Jung is the only fighter from his era that I haven’t fought. I don’t know when exactly, but I know there will be UFC토토사이트 Australia this year. Chansung Jung can fight there if he wants to.”

At Holloway’s request, the match-up sped up.

Jeong Chan-sung considered November this year as the ideal matchup period, but he could not refuse Holloway’s request to fight once in August and September this year and play another year-end game.

Eventually, the showdown was held in Singapore in August.

Jung Chan-sung is the first Korean to challenge for the UFC title. He has been competing against world-class powerhouses in the UFC since 2011. His record is 17 wins and 7 losses in 24 fights.

Holloway defeated Jose Aldo in 2017 to become the UFC featherweight champion. He lost to current champion Alexander Volkanovski three times and lost his pride, but he is the number two player in his weight class in name and reality.

Holloway is painting a multiplier and re-challenge for the title.

The UFC will hold the ‘Road to UFC’ semifinals at the same location on August 27, the day after UFC Fight Night Singapore, where Chansung Jung and Holloway face each other.

In the quarterfinals held on the 27th and 28th of last month in Shanghai, China, flyweight Choi Seung-guk, bantamweight Lee Chang-ho, featherweight Kim Sang-won, and lightweight Kim Sang-wook won their tickets to the semi-finals.
